DEVLIN'S DAILY
A bundle of shows for the price of
...well, none.
Tired of ploughing through that Fringe programme? Flustered by your
latest fistful of the flyers?
Then relax and give thanks for Devlin's Daily, a handy and shamefully
entertaining tasting menu of all that's great and good at this year's
festival. Let The Stand's cult compere Bruce Devlin gently guide you
through a smorgasbord of surprises which might whet your appetite with
an aperitif of African drumming, warm you up with a hearty main of
mime and cleanse your palate with a sharp sorbet of satire. And
there's no need to watch your wallet and just stick to a side salad
because the whole shebang is absolutely FREE!
Yes, just put your feet back and digest- we've put the leg work in for
you, scouring the Fringe for the big hitters and hidden gems in order
to present you with its richest pickings. From the truly acclaimed to
the truly alternative, this is the Fringe in all its eclectic glory.
Under Bruce's watchful eye, you can guarantee proceedings will never
get sluggish. A master of off-the-cuff humour and audience banter,
he'll keep the pace whipping along with hot Fringe gossip, candid
guest interviews and his own deliciously skewed views of the days news
and events.
Last year Bruce unleashed his devilishly sharp tongue on the likes of
Barry Cryer, Richard Herring, Lucy Porter, We Are Klang, Robin Ince
and Josie Long. This year, top guests are clamouring to get in on the
act and Bruce guarantees even more surprises and scandalous fun. With
up to half a dozen performers dropping in each day, Devlin's Daily is
the ultimate variety show- you're bound to find something to your
taste.
At The Stand, we feel you deserve a warm welcome to the world's
largest arts festival- so take a seat and have a lunchtime treat on
us. With mouth-watering homecooked food and a reasonably-priced,
well-stocked bar also on offer and a mix of mystery guests and
freewheeling wits ensuring a brand new show each time, you've really
no excuse not to make it your regular festival haunt.
What more do you want? Prizes? Goodies? Giveaways? Oh, go on then...
How about £100's worth of tickets to shows all across the Fringe given
away daily? We spoil you, we really doPress Quotes (Bruce Devlin)
