It's the 12th Edinburgh Fringe for The Stand Comedy Club and,
of course, we've got to make it the best yet. This year, we're
showcasing a programme packed full of afternoon delights and late
night laughs that'll keep you in stitches, no matter when you pop in.
And you really should.
The Stand only does comedy and we do it 360 days a year. So, after a
dozen years in the business, we reckon we know how to put on a show.
Our fundamental formula of value for money and cutting-edge variety
has kept a steady stampede of the laugh-hungry coming through our
doors each year. But worry not, we're not resting on our laurels-
throughout the year we're in amongst the crowds, scouring the country
for the best acts around. And we keep leading the pack on value for
money with most of our shows priced at seven or eight pounds. Change
from a tenner- it's not something you'll easily get elsewhere.
Over the next few pages, we're highlighting The Stand's roll call of
world premieres, greatest hits, limited engagements and daily
institutions. And, because we love comedy so much, we don't put our
feet up come September. As Edinburgh's only custom-built, full-time
comedy club, The Stand is uniquely placed to handpick the cream of the
comedy crop, ready for you on a silver platter. From the rising stars
creating the biggest buzz on the circuit to masters at the top of
