BEST OF IRISH COMEDY
sold out on the 25th August
returns available on the door at 6.15pm
It's not all about the gift of the gab, you know. The Fringe certainly
has no shortage of Irish gagsmiths anxious to charm you, but how do
you separate the brilliant from the blarney?
With Best of Irish Comedy at The Stand Comedy Club, you
certainly don't need the luck of the Irish to be assured of a top
night packed with the very best the Emerald Isle has to offer. There's
no need to pick a show blindly and take pot luck- Best of Irish's
premium blend of household names, circuit headliners and tomorrow's
superstars means you're sure to find comedy gold at the end of the
rainbow.
Best of Irish is simply a Fringe must-do. After seven years of
sell-out shows, the unique mix of banter, patter and the sharpest wits
around means there's no better craic to be found.
Previously, Best of Irish has seen some of Ireland's finest
exports make a rare return to the live stage. Major names that have
stepped up to represent their country include Black Books
legend Dylan Moran and Mock The Week and Have I Got News For
You host Dara O'Briain.
Other Fringe favourites likely to swing by include Jason Byrne, Colin
Murphy, Deirdre O'Kane, Owen O'Neill, Martin 'BigPig' Mor and
Father Ted star Michael Redmond. With its laidback, intimate vibe,
The Stand is the perfect place to see these live performers at the top
of their game relax and have a ball- it won't just be their Irish eyes
that are smiling.
Joining them will be the cream of the crop from the Dublin circuit.
All year round we keep our ear to the ground so we can handpick the
hottest newcomers generating the biggest buzz in one of comedy's top
breeding grounds. 'I saw them first' bragging rights are guaranteed.
Certified legends, Fringe heroes and the young pretenders to the
comedy throne all on one great bill for a paltry £8? When other venues
across the Fringe will merrily charge you up to £15 for their
equivalent? Who said Ireland has got more expensive since the Euro…
Best of Irish is an annual sell-out, so book early to avoid
disappointment. If you miss out, you'll be green with envy...
(All line-ups subject to last minute
change.)
Monday
27th August -
Jason Byrne and
