SEYMOUR MACE
Biography
Seymour Mace first burst onto the comedy scene in 2000 as the winner
of the Newcastle Comedy Festival Big Grin Award. More plaudits
followed, including winning the Cup A soup Challenge and becoming a
finalist in Channel 4's So You Think You're Funny? and being named
North West Comedian Of The Year in 2003. Seymour's previous Fringe
escapades have seen him catch up with his Imaginary Friends Reunited
in his first full length solo show and feature on Paramount Comedy
Channel's Edinburgh and Beyond and The World Stands Up
showcases.
Seymour's comedy comes from a strong theatrical and clowning
background. Since training with the National Youth Theatre he has
toured Norway, Japan, Finland and Germany with Natural Theatre
Company, adapted and directed Gregory for Flat One Theatre
Company and toured with the devised show Cat In The Hat .
Seymour has partaken in several radio and television productions for
Channel 4 and the BBC as a stand –up, actor and writer. These numerous
credits include The Stand-Up Show (BBC Radio 7), Swizz Call
(both Channel 4) and new sketch show No Friends In The North
(BBC Radio 2) alongside fellow stand-up Alun Cochrane.
In 2007, Seymour starred in his third series of BBC3's acclaimed
sitcom Ideal, alongside Johnny Vegas.
