 The all-conquering Phil Nichol returns to The Stand for a hero's
welcome.
Phil's back at The Stand Comedy Club in all his frenetic and very
probably full-frontal glory.Legendary for his freewheeling picaresque romps that are, frankly,
confessional to the point of deranged, you may wonder what Phil still
has left to explore. With potential homosexuality, nude bigots, jazz
ballet and substance-fuelled lost weekends ticked off the checklist,
what will Phil expose his audiences to in 2007?
One thing's for sure, Phil's all new show promises to be a
jaw-dropping feat of high octane comedy that will leave you shocked,
amazed and uplifted.
Sweaty, raucous and all-embracing, Mr Nichol will touch you, quite
possibly literally. There's no fourth wall in Phil's comedy- he just
wants to share the love.
2007 has already see Phil take his critically acclaimed Fringe show
The Naked Racist on his first major UK tour, where it played to
packed houses, including a sell-out run at London's Soho Theatre.
As per, it's a hectic Fringe for Phil. This year, he will be directing
Breaker Morant and starring in Killer Joe, both for his
own company The Comedians Theatre Company. But The Stand is the only
place in Edinburgh to catch Phil performing his brand new solo
stand-up show. Seeing Phil in action is seeing comedy at its livest-
make sure you don't miss your chance to experience an audience with
the freewheeling, mind-bogglingly funny genius.
Oh, and last year his show at The Stand won a little something that
took over from the Perrier- the inaugural if.comeddies Award for best
comedy.
