NICK WILTY
INCIDENT PRONE
TThe impossibly well-travelled Nick Wilty officially became a comedian
in 1990, having amassed a store of anecdotal material to make the
average stand-up weep with envy. A former soldier, shark fisherman and
general magnet for the obscure and deranged, Nick soon found himself
in huge demand as a performer across the world.
Despite engagements in Shanghai, Jakarta, Singapore, Brussels, Oslo,
and Copenhagen, Nick found time to present for the BBC, interviewing
the likes of Kylie Minogue and Dennis Hopper.
In 2000, Nick fronted the Channel 4 documentary The Other Side
, which followed his tour of New Zealand with Eddie Izzard. Other TV
appearances include Live At Jongleurs and The Comedy Store
and most recently he joined Armando Iannucci for three out of four
episodes of the Channel 4's new topical show Gash .
2007 sees Nick being named as one of the 50 cult (not a spelling
mistake) comedians in Julian Hall's The Rough Guide to British Cult
Comedy and the publication of his debut book Shooting on
Location , which is absolutely not suitable for children or
Margaret Thatcher .
In addition to his much anticipated solo show at The Stand, this
Fringe Nick will also be directed by Phil Nichol in the play
Breaker Morant and appear as part of a double act with
self-appointed German Comedy Ambassador Henning Wehn.
